A Letter to TRAI !

Thank you Trai!

This is a heart felt thanks to the new rule imposed for the 100 sms per day.
I am so happy . My phones status was such that no matter how much i delete there were always 20 or 40 sms in unread state.U guessed it right.. there are so many plots in sale or clothes on sale!!
I was fed up and frequently missed any personal sms i received becoz of this.
Thankfully now my phone doesnt vibrate every 5 minutes and i am getting only personal sms since yesterday after i msged START 0 to 1909. I was not sure this might work and thought it is just a waste like DND which doesnt work too. But surprisingly.. all F.A.L.T.U msgs stopped!!!

NAVRATRI, worshiping the Power

ITs a festival which touches every life and its more of a carnival. Navratri is an Indian festival where we worship the Goddess of power or Shakti in her all forms.

I wondered about the beginning and legend behind this festival. Here it goes.

Each of the nine day of this festival is dedicated to one of the form goddess took.
Parvati, the Supreme Goddess of Power known as sagun form of Devi Adi-Parashakti is the centre of this festival.

1. It all started when Lord Rudra worshiped Maa Adi-parashakti for creation, Lord Rudra cleared different levels of Shakti and Maa Shakti appeared in 'Saguna' form from the left half of Lord Shiva. The Goddess was Siddhidatri.
2. Then Goddess started living inside center of Sun so that Sun liberates energy by the grace of Goddess, the Goddess is known as Goddess Kashmunda.
3. The same Goddess then took birth in home daksha, Goddess was a great sati and her unmarried form is known as Goddess Brahmacharini.
4. After the self immolation of Maa Sati she appeared as daughter of Lord Himalya, the Goddess is then recoganized as Goddess Shailputri.
5. At the age of 16 Goddess Durga was extremely beautiful and very fair complexion and known as Goddess Mahagauri.
6. When Devi gets married with Lord Shiva, as Lord Shiva, Devi also liked to wear half chandra on her forehead, and recoganized as Goddess Chandraghanta.
7. When Devi became the mother of Lord Skanda or Lord Kartikeya, Devi was then known with name Goddess Skandmata.
8. Then Devi took the form of Goddess Katyani to destroy Demon Mahishasura.
9. Goddess Gauri or Goddess Parvati removed Devi's outer golden skin to fight against demons Shumbha-Nishumbha, Devi became very dark Goddess's this form is called Goddess Kaalratri.

The Nine days of Navratri:

Day 1 Shailputri

The first among nine Durgas and 1st night of Navratras is devoted to the puja of Shailputri . Her two hands display a trident and a lotus. Her mount is a bull.

Day 2: Bhramcharni

.One hand hold a "Kumbha" or water pot, and the other holds a rosary. She personifies love and loyalty. Bhramcharini is the store house of knowledge and wisdom. Rudraksha beads are Her most adored ornaments!

Day 3: Chandraghanta.

There is a half-circular moon in her forehead. She is charmful and bright. She is Golden in color, possesses ten hands and 3 eyes. Eight of her hands display weapons while the remaining two are respectively in the mudras of gestures of boon giving and stopping harm. Chandra + Ghanta, meaning supreme bliss and knowledge, showering peace and serenity, like cool breeze in a moonlit night. This Durga Shakti rides a tiger.

Day 4: Kushmanda

possessed of eight arms, holding a weapons and a mala ( rosary), her mount is the tiger and She emanates a solar aura. The abode of Kushmanda is Bhimaparvat

Day 5: Skanda Mata

Rising a lion as Her chosen vehicle, She holds Her son skanda on her lap. She displays three eyes and four hands; two hands holds lotuses while the other two hand display defending and granting mudras, respectively. Its said, by the merch of Skandmata, even the fool becomes an ocean of knowledge.

Day 6: Kaatyayani

stayed in the Ashram of sage Katyayan for penance, hence SHE named as Kaatyayani. This 6th Shakti is also astride a lion with 3 eyes and 4 arms. One left hand holds a weapon and the other a lotus. The other 2 hands respectively display defending and granting gestures. HER complexion is golden coloured.

Day 7: Kaalratri

Black (or blue ) skin with bountiful hair and 4 hands, 2 clutching a cleaver and a torch, while the remaining 2 are in the mudras of "giving" and "protecting". Her vehicle is a faithful donkey. The destroyer of darkness and ignorance

Day 8: Maha Gauri

With four arms and the fairest complexion of all the Durgas Shaktis, Mahagauri radiates peace and compassion. She is often dressed in a white or green sari. She holds a drum and a trident and is often depiected riding a bull.

Day 9: Siddhidatri

There are eight Siddhis , they are- Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Iishitva & Vashitva. It is said in "Devipuran" that the Supreme God Shiv got all these Siddhies by worshipping Maha Shakti. With her gratitude the half body of Shiv has became of Goddess and there fore his name "Ardhanarishvar" has became famous.Usually shown ensconced a lotus with four arms, She is the grantor of 26 different wishes to Her Bhaktas.

Thoughts

Keep your surrounding and environment DE-cluttered.

If you think about ancient times people use to meditate in ashrams , where they were surrounded by barest things. The less objects which can distract you are present around you the more concentration you can have . Having pics can help but only if they are something you love and connect not something which you long for.

you see having an image of something you only wish for with a sub feeling of never gonna have it:(.... it will always remain that way becoz u believe it with ur heart.

your thoughts are powerful. what you can believe with all your heart can happen.

Anyway so keep distraction to minimum and surrounding clean. and sit . you will feel relaxed and automatically all the things will start falling into perspective. You will get new ideas. Its ok if you are overwhelmed by the silence and have lot of thoughts coming in at high speed .. they will come becoz suddenly u r free of distraction and there is lot of free space.. let it wash over you..after sometime ull get used to it and the inflow will slow down..

Calm down and be selective about the thoughts you would like to pick up..and start working on it.

Be sure to write it down so that you have space ready for more new ideas..

Whenever you face a problem/... no make it challenge.. never call it problem :)

yes so whenevr you face a challenge go into this special neat and clear room and then let ur mind open start writing down the ideas all type of ideas..dont dwell whether it can be done or not. just write down 20 pr 15 options. doesn't matter how weird they are.

Once your list is done then give full thought to all of them starting from 20th. Ull be surprised to find many great ideas.

IDEAS do has the potential to change your life so don't underestimate your subconscious brain. Go for it. have fun and peace.

Excel problems for excel gurus

I have to work lot on excel and as a result try to shortcut lot of things but here are some problems which i encountered but couldn't find the best solution.

1. How to get all tab names or sheet names of my worksheet in one sheet of same workbook.

i got lot of

=MID(CELL("filename",A1),FIND("]",CELL("filename",A1))+1,
LEN(CELL("filename",A1))-FIND("]",CELL("filename",A1)))

but it just provide name of currently active sheet not other sheets.

Other options are vba requiring macro

but i dont want to create macro i think excel ppl shoudl create a command to get all the excel sheets names .

2. You want to copy filtered data but its copying entire stuff? worse it is giving error: " not able to execute command on merge cells ..something like that?

well dont worry solution to your problem is very simple.
Excel options->customize->in drop down "choose commands from " select "Commands not in ribbon" ->scroll down and add "select visible cells" command . add it to ur top bar

select visible cells looks like 4 black squares.

now when ur filter is set select the part u want click on this button it will select only visible cells and it will be copied easily.

if you face problem copying merged cells..just highlight them and click on merge and centre button they will be unmerged without losing ur data as same data will be copied on both rows.

then u can continue copying.

happy excel -ing :D

3. in excel how to get number of working days in a month.
simple
=NETWORKDAYS(start date,end date, [holidays])
for e.g.
where A4 = 2/1/2012
A38= 2/29/2012
for feb month
in any cell put following formula and press enter. ull get 21
i.e. there 21 working days in feb.

=NETWORKDAYS(A4,A38)

4. in excel how to get the day from a date.

e..g in cell A1 we have date 2/1/2012
and u want the day on this date to be displayed in A2
then simply write =A1 in cell A2
then change format of A2 cell to custom->dddd.

i.e. it will display wednesday.

5. One of the most beneficial formulas in store of Excel. Vlookup.

Imagine you have some selected data of 24 ids and you want to get data corresponding to some numbers from the table having huge data? will you manually  do ctrl + f? I dont think so...
Thats where Vlookup helps.

Only precondition.. what you have to ssearch via should be a unique number and those unique numbers should be in the first column of the table from which you want to get data.. example.

your data:
ram123
king456
sammy876

you want to search from the data base below:
User Id      User first name       user last name    user age

ram123         ram                        singh                   28
kan908         kanha                     verma                 30
rem976        Rema                       Gupta                29
king456        Saniya                      Shukla              78
sammy876   Samrat                      Dev                  87

and so on..... till 100 records.

so lets say you want age of ids in "your data" then you write formula in next cell
ram123    = Vlookup(A1,Sheet1!A1:D6,4,False)

here A1 is the cell where ram123 is written
Sheet1 is the tab where your database is present

Sheet1!A1:D6  ->A1:D6 is the area of table which you want to refer...you can select the whole sheet too

4 is the column number of the "user age" the value which you want to get

False-> it means you want exact match.

                ram123    = Vlookup(A1,Sheet1!A1:D6,4,False)
RESULT: ram123    28
